| A wall in Jing Shan Park. When the Ming Dynasty was overthrown by a peasant rebel in 1644, the last emperor Chong Zhen hung himself under a locust tree in Jing Shan Park. The original tree didn't survive onto today. A new locust tree was planted in the site of the old tree. People still like to tell you this story when you go into the park. |
