What can you do after accidentally formatted your memory card and took several more pictures? Googled the Internet, lucky enough, you found this page. The following instruction will show you how to get it back by using the data recovery tool. Zero Assumption Recovery is very easy to use, powerful and free. The software could be downloaded from http://www.z-a-recovery.com. Here is the instruction if you are not familiar with computer.
Step 1: Open ZAR, Initial settings: click "Proceed >>" on the bottom right.
Step 2: Pick a task to perform: check "Recover images from camera memory card" then click "Proceed >>".
Step 3: Select a physical device: The "Type" of the memory card should be "Removable" and the "Capacity" should match the size of your memory card. (For 512MB card, it shows 486MB, 26MB has been used by system), then click "Proceed >>". The number of Raw scan: Identifying data keep increasing, and the volume map ends with no more yellow blocks (which is the block not yet scanned). The "Execution Progress" bar should keep moving, it will take about 45 minutes on a 512MB low speed card.
Step 4: Mark files to recover: When finished scan, the "Proceed >>" button will be enabled again and you can mark file to recover. Just check all of them, the box in front of the "ROOT" folder, then click "Proceed >>".
Step 5: Copy process settings: Specify the "Destination", click the button with three dots "…" and select a folder (also called directory, for example, c:\zardata), write it down, leave "Auto rename" as the option for "Existing files". Then click the "Start copying the selected files" button.
Step 6: Finished. Go to the folder (which is c:\zardata in the case), all the files should be there. |
