I took this shot around 3 PM on a cloudy day, but the sky was still too bright. I placed two Cokin Graduated Gray filters diagonally on the top left to darken the sky. The RAW conversion process turned the day into night. The top left remained dark. The second RAW conversion has been done with exposure increased by 0.75. Used the feather selection tool on the left side of the second image, and then pasted it on top of the first one. The details on the building just came back.
Tips: Set the Feather Radius to a large number, 25-200 pixels on a 3000x2000 image.
Tricks: Repeat this process as many as you want until balance the brightness. A large feather radius can get similar result as the Graduated ND filter.
